ABOUT

Join Canadian painter Mark Vazquez-Mackay for a weekend of learning how to paint in the great Canadian plien-air tradition. A vast landscape can be overwhelming. This workshop will empower you with some tools to organize the information and achieve better success with your paintings. After learning composition with some preliminary drawings, we will explore the importance of colour and value to open a vast space on your flat surface. Throughout the weekend, we will gather to share our learning experiences with the group.

All 2D mediums are welcome from oil paint, to collage, to pastels. You will be responsible for bringing appropriate support for the medium you are working in. If you have question around what will be appropriate for your medium, please contact Mark.

Specific location within Edworthy park will be shared closer to the date.

Workshop is open to all levels.

WHAT TO BRING

• Your painting drawing materials

• Support material for drawing or painting such as a French easel and drawing board.

• A seat if desired.

• Lunch and drink.
