Spend 6 full days immersed in a painting experience in one of the worlds most attractive costal towns turned city.

Our retreat will be based in the historic centre of Puerto Vallarta, far away from the large resorts, where everyday you will learn painting techniques from Mark Vazquez-Mackay while exploring a new space in the historic centre.

Puerto Vallarta is known as an escape from the northern winters to most. And while we all love an escape, Puerto Vallarta has also maintained a traditional Mexican aesthetic in the historic centre since the days that the “Night of the Iguanas” was shot here over a half a century ago.

Each day will start with a painting lesson by Mark specific to the landscape we will be observing. After a day of painting, the group will retreat to the hotel in the late afternoon where we will be able to share our experience.

No painting experience necessary

Materials

All painting materials are welcome. Concepts and painting techniques will be applicable to Watercolours, Acrylics, and Oil paints. Participants will be responsible for bringing their painting materials. If transporting materials is a concern, a package can be prepared for you in Mexico…easy!

Recommended materials:

-Set of paints with range of colours.

-field easel (french easel) or an equivalent set-up that works for your process.

-Portable seat, if sitting is preferred.

-Six painting surfaces.
